Snow is beautiful, It covers the landscape and makes everything look clean
It gives you child-like joyful chills as it falls.
But everything freezes and you cant get out and go play. Booooooooooo !
Watch out the idiots are about: The horses played together in the fields like loonies
I watched the rearing thinking ''Uhmmmm Not a lot wrong with the push from those hocks''
Self exercise is great but I wish they wouldn't go so fast on the slippery ground first thing in the mornings Human was stuck in spectator mode on one spot, unable to move, wondering who was going to fall over and injure themselves first !
The Ninja had no issues sniffing out and digging for the grass under the snow.
He does look after his belly
Unfortunately for me snow fall was annoying disruptive this time. I am normally super hardy and will go out training and to shows in most weather. We would have probably chosen to stay at home due to the amount of ice on the ground this time, but we had no choice, we were well and truly stuck
Gutted to miss the show with Alfie and hated every minute of knowing I had lost my entry fees, but you have to make a decision you are happy with
The road leading to the yard.
Where the tyres made tracks in the snow yesterday was just pure ice with absolutely no grip.
The Main village road covered in a sheet of ice.
Prayed whilst driving my car to the yard. Yes the Pathfinder has four wheel drive but the trailer would have definitely had a mind of its own on that road
My drive at home. Just about got my car in and out. Its only a small slope but my car struggled.
My car abandoned on the drive in front of the trailer due to the deep snow.
If we had got the trailer out we would never have got it back in.
We can drive out, but in winter we have to reverse it back in.
The bucket trick in the water trough over night super failed.
It was so cold the bucket was truly stuck.
Alfie doesn't do well in the snow, his box foot always manages to hold the snow despite my efforts of greasing. A few lovely days off for him. He did look very handsome in his snow pics
The Ninja is barefoot and after my bum splat a few weeks previous I was determined to get back on for a plod round the field. He let me tack up so all systems go for some barefoot snow crunching
Major Snow plus point. No Mud.
With snow, the increase in day temperature, and lack of mud meant the Ninja could go out Naked and have fun rolling. He did love rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling
One of his favourite past times is rolling
Snow does make the landscape very beautiful giving us the chance to take some amazing pictures
