đ´đ´VENUE AND SHOW REVIEW
Today (17.02) we headed over to Brook Farm Dressage and on the way I was trying to remember the last time I was there. I was on my handsome TB Tailored Risk riding the BRC music qualifier class. I cant remember how long ago it was but it was a very long time. After last weeks trailer meltdown thanks to some ponies in a field we happily stood unawares of the horses in the sand paddock today. Go figure ?
It was great to be on dry hard standing and the show was nice and quiet for the afternoon classes but if it had been any busier the parking would had been tricky.
Catering van was onsite and the club house was friendly and warm.
The warm up was stewarded although riders really shouldn't stand or walk on the track when others are actively working in, big annoyance of mine
Great Venue easily accessed from the M4. We will be back
Yesterday I worked with Ali on straightness and contact tension. All the expensive bits I have tried and purchased over the last year and Alfie decides he is comfier in one of Ali's second hand bits I purchased nice and cheap. Again Go figure ?
We took yesterday's exercises into the warm up today and the main man responded perfectly. We even got glimpses of Aintree 2017 Alfie which made me one very happy rider.
My hip was playing up but as Alfie was super soft in his back in the warm up I had no problems going into sitting trot to relive my hip for a bit.
With brain cells still fried and breathing still tight Dad read both tests for me today so no video playback to analyse but despite low scores I am super happy with how both tests rode. I rode the second test much better than the first paying more attention to the transitions but Alfie was tighter in the second test. It was refreshing to have too much oumph. Naughty Alfie broke his walk but his medium canter work was bold and in control and he tried really hard to please in this trot work
